Rudy v. Fayde

In recent years, the arena had fallen into disrepute for having no-shows or an uninterested Warden. Today however, the few drunks in the stands sat up and took notice. A large crater, almost the size of the massive arena, sat in the middle of the field. Just a crater. The names of the new contestants were scribbled onto a large piece of card and duct taped to the wall on one side. A disheveled and hung over referee stepped up to the podium near the sleeping warden's chair.
"Hey guys," he looked out at all the bums in the crowd. The crowd did nothing, which made Jed the referee lose interest entirely.
"Screw it, there's people fighting. Don't vomit on the stands and bugger off when it's done okay?" he winced at his own shouting and walked off holding his head.
Two gates creaked open on either side of the arena.

In the words of Mortal Kombat, "FIGHT"

Stepping out of the gates into the arena the green haired coward looked from side to side taking in his surroundings and inhaled deeply before exhaling. An overwhelming stench of booze entered his nostrils which caught him off guard. Looking across the arena to see Fayde Rudy caught sight of another gate and his opponent.

Gulping she looked like she meant business and pulled his meanest face which still wasn't all that terrifying. Making his first move to show his ferocity in battle, Rudy clenched his fists tightly and took a few steps closer closing in on Fayde.

If he could intimidate her then he'd have an advantage. Walking towards her Rudy thought about how he could beat her and use his brains to win the fight. But using his brains was usually a pretty dangerous thing for Rudy to do.

Fayde took a step into the arena. The opponent she seemed to be fighting was.. A little disappointing. However, appearances should deceive, she continued to walk toward him; loading a normal bolt into her crossbow and firing a "warning shot" (I.E Aiming for the leg) as she came to a halt a dozen or so feet away from him.

She did not appreciate any kind of crowd, however now that she knows where these kind of people gather, she could deal with them later, or after future battles.

One or two people sat up as they saw the combatants.
"They actually got real fighters this time," one whispered to another, referencing the time the Warden got two gorillas to punch a scarecrow for half an hour.
A few late comers sat down: fight enthusiasts who had stats on pieces of paper. They watched as Fayde fired the warning shot, constantly scribbling notes about trajectory and chances to hit.

As the bolt came his way, Rudy yelped out of shock as he hadn't been expecting it. Looking at her through eyes of slight panic & worry, Rudy sprinted towards her. With tightly clenched fists he really hoped she would miss as he darted from side to side.

Picking up the bolt as he sped past it Rudy tried twirling it between his fingers but found himself simply flicking it one way before flicking it back the other way. Ignoring the twirling he continued to sprint towards her. Coming closer and breaking down the gap Rudy leapt into the air.

A full two feet off the ground Rudy tossed the bolt back towards her with all of his strength and landed directly in front of her crouching down. The bolt was aimed for her face but sadly instead of staying the correct way round the bolt spun around and even if it did hit it would be the back of the bolt which hit Fayde.

It seemed he was a quick one, being able to evade the bolt mid-flight, so she would have to do something he couldn’t dodge. He picked up her ammo and ran toward her, she cranked back the string of the weapon and loaded in a Pepper Bolt, as soon as he jumped she placed her foot to the left side, then span her right foot around back to the proper side, spinning around trying to evade both the bolt and the green haired boy’s jumped, she felt the back end of the bolt strike her ear, though it didn’t really cause much damage, just a little irritation of getting hit.
 
When she would finish the spinning and hopefully be behind him, she would aim the pepper bolt at his feet, close her eyes and hold her breath, firing it. Where the arrow would land with sufficient force, a pepper cloud would erupt from the tip, causing irritation to the eyes and coughing. She had turned away from Rudy to avoid showing the tell-tale signs of a different kind of attack.

The referee returned, a wet towel on his head and tea in his hand, finally ready to watch over the game.

Looking up Rudy was confronted with Fayde launching a pepper bolt towards him, however he didn't know it was a pepper bolt or what would come upon hitting its target. Screaming as he flinched and leapt from Fayde Rudy heard it burst into a puff of something as he turned around and caught sight whilst lying on his back, Rudy sneezed.

Whatever it was it had brought on a sneezing fit.

Sneezing several times, mostly in Fayde's direction, Rudy had trouble stopping. Picking himself up to his feet and looking at Fayde though the occasional glimpses between each sneeze Rudy tried t rub away the snot hanging from his nostrils.

Fayde ran out of the pepper cloud and aimed into it, once again aiming toward the ground as she fires off an Oil bolt in an attempt to slip him up, although it was named the 'Arena of Death', she didn't think she would actually have to kill him, if so then no wonder the place looked so out of function. Anyway, if she kept toying with him maybe he'd give up, or knock himself out while tring to get to her.

The crowd was gathering strength, amassing a good fifty members. While there was a small fanbase for the apparent underdog named Rudy, most of the crowd cheered for Fayde as she fired her Oil Bolt.

Rubbing his snotty nose, Rudy looked up to see Fayde through slightly teary eyes where he saw her aiming towards his feet once again. This time he leapt backwards as the bolt exploded into something of a liquid form. Peering down at it then at Fayde, Rudy's brain started to try and figure out what it was.

Taking a bold risk Rudy took a few steps back before he ran towards Fayde, stepping in the liquid he started sliding along the ground thanks to its lubricant as his feet came from the liquid he allowed his torso to fall back into it and slid along the ground on his back.

Coming close to Fayde he lifted two small rocks he'd passed. Leaping up and throwing his drenched top over Fayde, Rudy smashed the two rocks together thinking they'd act like a flint and light up his jacket & Fayde especially thanks to the oil bolt.

But to his upset no spark was made and Rudy hit the ground behind Fayde now with out his shirt but a black tank top. Turning to look at Fayde he started trying to think of any other way he could possibly beat her.

"I think one of these are what you need." she said, holding a fire bolt in her hand before placing it in one of her quivers, she hadn't lit it yet, but then she looked at him. "Were fists all you brought to this fight, or are you going to fight with rocks too?"

She rummaged through her sachel and produced two cherry bombs, lighting them through a a flint and tinder attached her gloves upon the left index finger and thumb, she tossed them in front of Rudy, hoping they would at the least knock him out, though at the least it'd probably hurt.

Jed the ref was into the swing of things now. Hangover forgotten and attention on the match, he commentated his thoughts.
"How do you like that ladies and gentlemen?" he boomed through the sound system. "Clutch plays from Rudy that failed at the last minute."
The crowd gave a soft, apologetic clap.

Seeing Faydr speak of needing a light for his attack to have worked, Rudy sighed. As she lit two small devices and tossed them his way, Rudy made haste in leaping to his right and rolling free.

Landing crouched he stood up and looked towards Fayde with hands at the ready. Taking aim with both hands at Fayde, Rudy had an attack in mind.

Unleashing a barrage of projectiles from his fingers Rudy fired out a series of sharpened bamboo sticks towards Fayde hoping to do her some serious harm.

Followed by a a vine which ripped out from beneath him launching Rudy into the air. Shooting up Rudy found himself 30ft in the air overlooking Fayde and the rest of the arena with a smile on his face.

Fayde loaded up a bolt into her crossbow, cranking it up and getting ready to shoot him again. He was making a gesture toward her, she wasn't really sure what he was planning, he then went to a crouching position and looked up at her, she took aim at him. Soon many stick-like objects shot out of his hands, forcing her to abandon target and spend all of her efforts in evasion.

She dived to the left, backtracked to the right, by the end of it she was covered in cuts from where she just barely was able to get out of the way, however she did have a piece of bamboo in her thigh, wincing she pulled it out and went for the spectators, neither she nor her rope could reach the person up above, so she tried a different approach. "May I borrow someone from the audience?" she asked the referee.

"What SHOWMANSHIP!" Jed exclaimed in response to Fayde's request. The crowd went insane with newcomers now wanting to join the fight and help the lovely Fayde in her dirty dealings. Jed gestured a shoving motion to one of the underpaid Arena guards who responded by pushing a young red haired man into the Arena. The crowd went mad as he managed to stop the deadly fall by catching a nook in the wall and climbing down; a mix of ecstasy and fear on his face.
"The name's Dandy," he wheezed, catching his breath. "Pleasure to be of service, ma'am."

Watching the bamboo fly from his fingers tips and a single sharpened piece stick itself into the milky white flesh of the archer before him, a smile crept over the worried face of a surprised Rudy Michaels. Lowering his hands and looking as she asked for a member of the audience he raised an eyebrow and cocked his head to the side.

Looking at the gentleman who was pushed into the ring, Rudy didn't quite know if he was at liberty to harm the man who identified himself as Danny. Looking around a little trouble and confused he raised his hand a little reluctantly as if he were a toddler at school with what he believed might be the answer but really really wasn't too sure.

Just in case the lady Fayde took this chance to attack however he prepared himself with his free hand at the ready with a little surprise to throw anyone or thing that came his way off balance.

"[color=purpleIt's good to meet you, Dandy. How gracious of you to help me.[/color]" she said, walking up to him, before holding up a finger. "This should just take a moment, stay still." she continued, attempting to hold his shoulders with her hands and dig her index fingers into each of them, attempting to siphon off one litre of blood, burning away a bit to cause her wounds to fade away, once the light ones had been taken care of, she would use the rest to fill herself up with blood. The amount she'd take in this process would be one and a half litres. Once done, unless stopped she would take a few steps back and look toward Rudy, cocking her crossbow, loading in an explosive bolt into it, lighting it and then firing toward Rudy.
