Grand Line: Sky Reach

The Contractor 21kfaXG

Fallen Angel Quadrant

Snowy white ashes fell from the skies touching upon all around them coating them in a harshness that they'd never known. A devil of a man who'd plagued their sweet island and most of the Grand Line under the alias 'Vetis'. Debris lay scattered throughout the town square and various town's folk who hadn't managed an escape hid behind it cowering in fear of their own life. Their humble town accepted Marines due to the knowledge that they only sought out to help, but unfortunately they'd never been ready for such a thing as this. The destruction brought about by this young Marine was more than they could handle.

Pushing a person to their limits always brought destruction and that is just what had happened. The island of Sky Reach had, had a fortunate escape, but with the notorious Vetis now gone, they could get back to a much less corrupt way of living. Falling from the skies a cold black steel mask hit the concrete with two eye holes and three bars reaching down over the eyes. On the forehead on either side there were two small horns and the entire mask was black in colour. Landing beside it was a striped shoulder pad.

Standing centre stage Warrant Officer Colton Ryker felt a throbbing pain in his face where a C shaped wound curved his right eye and blood steamed from it down his face to his jaw line where it dripped off. With his shirt completely ripped and torn from his body, he was left with mere strands hanging from his chiselled torso. A rip in the right knee of his trousers and his knuckles ached whilst they were smothered in blood. All up his arms cuts lined them.

Behind him one sound caught his attention, turning to look for it he saw from the Heavens fell a specially designed black sword with a pointed tip and curved blade. The sword landed tip first in the ground and embedded itself in such a way it stood up straight barely wavering from its impact. Hanging from the hilt blowing in the breeze was Vetis's long red ribbon.

Sighing Colton felt a sense of relief as Vetis was no more.

Risen Demon Quadrant

Stuck in the poverty stricken quadrant of Sky Reach Master Chief Petty Officer Alexis Fisher was suffering serious wounds of her own. Due to this being the less lawless portion of the island everybody had happily taken a crack at her or tried. The Houses looked as bad as they'd always looked and the town's folk just as bad with missing teeth, fingers and even eyes they were truly starved of everything they needed to make a decent life for themselves. Snowy white ash fell over them slowly coating their homes. Hanging out of the large tree that was their island one of the branches easily covered Alexis. The large wooden branch stood 10 feet above her but still covered her from the ash. Casting a large shadow it made the gentle breeze feel quite cold.

Leaving a trail of blood leading to the town she was now in trouble as she knew full well her opponent would be able to follow her not just because of trail, but scent too. The situation they were in was like a diversion, but it needed to be dealt with. Winston had not only out foxed them but also already paid for their extinction this was just phase two of his plan going to orders.

The Crescent Drop Protection unfortunately were easily bought off.

And one of their operatives even more so. It was good to have allot of fingers in allot of pies, but Winston was no person, with the amount of fingers and pies he had, he was more like an octopus.

The Crescent Drop Protective had arrested both Alexis Fisher & Colton Ryker and after placing them in a holding cell and conversing with the Navy discovered they were also Navy soldiers. The next part of the plan was to move them, their last known whereabouts only meant one thing and that was more trouble. The Navy could rescue them. Placing the two of them aboard a merchant vessel they were on their way to their death's.

Despite being a logia Colton didn't stand a chance escaping. With a pair of sea stone cuffs wrapped firmly around his wrists he struggled doing much as it was. Alexis however had been stripped of her weapons and placed in an ordinary pair of handcuffs. The two were allowed to wander the ship, but not allowed to be left unsupervised. Standing at the deck and looking out over the waves Colton could feel the stitching on his head.

Turned out the impact from the soldier in Winston's house had been allot harder than previously thought and he'd been bleeding the stitching would heal though. Struggling to keep his footing, Colton stood could feel his hands being weighed down by the sheer weight of the cuffs. He hated this, he was stuck aboard a merchant ship unable to do a damn thing because everyone was armed with some sort of fire arm except himself and Alexis and he was so weak he could only just manage walking around the ship let alone fighting. He'd love to try his luck stealing the keys, but knew if he failed he'd just wind up in a worse situation.

Uncertain of where they were headed he did his best to figure it out from the sea and the sky, but sadly they gave him comfort or knowledge of their current location or destination. Sitting down on the bench he sighed and hunched over as he reached to run his hands over his face. He could already feel his stubble beginning to push through.

Welp, we’re in the shit.” Alexis said, her seastone knuckles had been removed, as well as her (albeit unused) rifle. She looked around, they were on a boat or something, they were on a boat and were off to somewhere probably nasty. Colton looked to be in relatively bad shape, though that may just be because of the seastone, in this instance it’s more of a liability than a help but what can you do? He couldn’t have just floated away from a guy with seastone and hit him from afar, but apparently he’s too good for that. Bloody Colton, getting himself knocked out.

He;d eventually gotten stitching, which surprised her as they were prisoners, which she guessed they were worth something, maybe a ransom since they barely even knew the ex-admiral-guy-whose-rank-she-couldn’t-remember. Although it may have pleased her to see him so weak in a more fortunate situation, it.. Wasn’t fortunate. She was chained down too, in fact she had handcuffs so she couldn’t deck anyone to show her distaste for them, all she could do is wait. “So uh.. Where’re we going again?” she made it her personal mission to annoy any guards that were around. She’d asked the question quite a few times before, answer or no.

Feeling the sun's warm glow begin to wash over him, Colton raised his head to meet a blinding light that he turned away from quickly. He hated feeling like this. It was a bad day for him and his stitches hurt a bit too.

Reaching up to scratch a hand came into contact with his and stopped him. Raising his head to look up he could see a man with a shades & a goatee shaking his head.

"You'll pull out the stitches, just let it itch, it'll go away soon."

Nodding as he lowered his hands the man sat beside Colton and removed a small silver case, upon opening it he removed a cigarette and offered one to Colton. Shaking his head declining the offer the gentleman popped his own into his mouth and pocketed the case before lighting his own.

"Just thought you might want a smoke before . . ." cutting off mid sentence he looked away.

"Before what?"

"You know."

"No, I really don't."

"Then you're in for a surprise."

"You're going to kill us aren't you?"

Looking into the distance as he exhaled the gentleman allowed the smoke to slid out of his mouth and behind him dragged into the winds that sailed above the waters.

"Winston had a plan all along. Y'know he used to serve in the Marines too so he knows all the tricks & trades of the Navy."

"You didn't answer my question."

"Why say what we already know?"

Nodding understanding that he would just be wasting his breath on telling him what he already knew, Colton looked out over the waves to see in the far distance the island they were being transported to.

Sky Reach.

A tree like island reaching into the Heavens with rules that he knew he just wouldn't care about. An island without Navy rule which he could burn to the ground. Getting to his feet the gentleman who'd sat beside Colton returned to the helm of the ship where he resumed control.

The Contractor GM7UJuL

Hearing the voice of the filthy woman ask where they were headed the two guards shot her a dirty look.

"None of your fuckin' business." one of them spat back at Alexis with putrid intention and vile breath. "All you need to know is you're a fugitive and you're going to be punished by order of Raymond Winston."

Turning around and facing away from Alexis both guards left her to her own. She was just cargo to them and that's all she'd remain as. Nothing more, nothing less.

1 Hour Later

The Contractor 21kfaXG
The Contractor GM7UJuL

Arriving on the shores of Sky Reach the ship was docked and the men carrying their cargo onto the docks. Entering the room with Alexis two guards escorted her from her cell to the docks of Sky Reach along with an additional man for Colton.

As they left the ship Colton looked back at the ship, from what he could see the ship was an ordinary Merchant vessel and the man who'd spoken with him had been its Captain. The men who'd been overlooking him & Alexis had merely been guards travelling with them.

With hands still cuffed both Alexis & Colton were escorted towards a shoddy looking protection station. The island's lower quadrant looked horrendous, the lifestyle of the inhabitants, the crime everything. Upon arriving on the shore there was a young woman lying on the floor to their right screaming for help as two young men kicked at her telling her to shut her mouth. There were numerous markets to the left with fruit so rotten it would probably be better to miss your five a day.

Walking along through the large shadow cast by the leaves up above Colton found himself stepping in something which squelched. Looking down he noticed he'd stepped in cow shit. Sighing he continued walking as he was shoved by one of the guards armed with rifles just behind him.

The large protection station was built into the trunk of this island. Entering in through the large open archway the two were brought into the reception and before the guards had the chance to speak to the receptionist a middle aged man with a slight beer belly and a pretty rough but smart appearance came barrelling down the stairs. Seems he'd fallen. A round yellow ball rolled from the stairwell and slammed into the wall directly at the bottom.

landing upside down he flipped himself up on to his feet quickly and made his way towards both Alexis & Colton.

"Bout time you guys got here!" he said in a cheerful tone. "Come on, come on. Follow me. I'll show you were to go right now." gesturing to follow him the man in the yellow shirt led the guards through a labyrinth of winding corridors till they found themselves in the basement opening the large metallic door the gentleman raised his hand.

"I've been given strict orders by the man who wants these two that you men are to wait in here. The two Marines on the other hand are to come with me." Colton had noticed how the basement of this protection station was in awful condition. Although the large deadbolt lock on the door didn't seem to be something would budge any time soon.

Looking at the oddly cheerful protection operative the guards reluctantly agreed after exchanging looks and entered the room to wait. They'd had half a mind to attack, but knew full well just how dangerous this man with a fake smile was.

Closing the door behind them the man with the fake smile quickly locked the door and reached for a small box on the wall. Twisting and turning a few knobs he finally closed it up and looked in through the door's small murky window.

"Ta ta for now boys. I'll see you in another life." Turning to Alexis & Colton the man continued. "I'm Detective Gonzola and you'll be coming with me today and if you even think about stepping out of line you will regret it, now lets all make this trip a nice easy one. Just follow me and we'll get along just fine."

Turning around and beginning to lead the way once more he reached for his den den mushi and quickly placed a call.

"Hey its Gonzola, I've got them with me now. We'll be stopping by in a couple of minutes. See you there."

The one thing Colton noticed which surprised him more than anything was how the mushi hanging from Gonzola's belt changed to a rather dangerous looking snail. With horns and eyes that had bars crossing them. It seemed like a mask, but it didn't make him feel any form of confidence as to where they were headed.

Whatever, dickforbrains.” she said, going back a little to avoid getting spat at. The guards were so rude, like the ones on her home island, the bastards. She then went back to looking around at the sea, she overheard Colton and the guy speak, but she didn’t really bother listening in too much. Yup, they were, indeed, in the shite.

Soon they were pushed out of their cells as they made port. They were escorted through the streets, Colton literally became in the shit and they continued onwards, Alexis glanced at the woman who seemed to be having a bad day, but couldn’t really do much about it as much as she wanted to smack the two mens’ heads together. The whole place was shabby and.. bad.

Soon they reached a place, waiting at reception some weird guy fell down the stairs. Alexis tried not to laugh but she was doing a bad job of hiding her mirth. They were walked through hall after hall, corridor after corridor eventually stopping at a metal door. She’d broken through one once before, and she was quite willing to do it again. The place looked terrible but they were probably going in there.

Surprisingly it was the guards who went in there, four eyes locked them in and said that he was going to see them ‘another life’. “What the hell?” she blurted out, blinking. Did that guy just leave his friends to starve or something? This place must have the worst morale ever.

He spoke to them, she was a little confused, he was a detective or something. They were walked along again, and he took out a den den mushi that looked like a wrestler or something. “Oi, what was that all about?” she said, looking back toward the metal door place.

Leaving the room with the guards from holes in the walls a putrid gas with a green tint begun to fill the room. Coughing could be heard and turning to look back Colton heard the banging and screaming of the guards in the room behind. Slowly they faded. Looking back towards Gonzola he gulped. This guy was a psychopath.

Continuing to follow him to the room where he would meet his partner in crime 'literally' Colton looked towards Alexis with an expression of concern. Mouthing to Alexis Colton just hoped she'd understand him.

"Keep your eyes peeled."

Kicking open the door to a room Gonzola turned to gesture for Alexis & Colton to enter. Nodding Colton headed inwards.

"Take a seat on the bench." Gonzola blurted out. The room was cosy. Small with peeling yellow paint and holes in the walls what seemed to be bullet holes. Standing Beside the desk Gonzola sat down at after he shut the door was another gentleman dressed in black from head to toe. With a black t-shirt, elbow & knee pads and black combat boots which reach up to almost his knees the man could be seen wearing a mask that enveloped his entire head. Hanging from his back was a single blade.

Looking over a large map of the island on the wall he didn't seem to even notice Alexis & Colton were there.

Looking towards Alexis & Colton, Gonzola removed some paper work from his desk and got up handing it to both Alexis & Colton.

"Fill these out." Handing them each quills he returned to his desk. The papers to be filled out were all to do with their identity and who they worked for.

Wooow.” Alexis said, looking back at the coughing and screamin
Guards she turned back to the front. “Worst boss ever.” she muttered, following the guy who didn’t really seem to have any care for his subordinates. Well that convinced her not to get a job at guarding in the place, that Gonzola guy really had to go.

She turned to Colton as she noticed he was staring at her, reading his lips she nodded. She looked around, corridors… Corridors.. Soon Gonzola kicked open a door, he wasn’t really into things in his way, it seemed. The fat bastard.

They were told to sit upon a bench, there were holes in the walls where obviously some people were dissatisfied with the way Gonzola or whoever his predecessor was (if there was one) doing around here. There was another guy with some knee pads and nice boots who was wearing a creepy masky thing. It seemed he was a swordsman, judging from the blade on his back.

Gonzola placed down paper work in front of them, she was given a quill. She could be compliant and all nice, but then again they were all cunts.

She wrote on the form, indeed confirming that she worked for “Your mum.”

Looking over the paper he had been handed, Colton read down it and looked over towards the man in the mask and Gonzola. Brushing the paper off his knee to the floor, Colton refused to fill it out. Not because he didn't see the point, but because it was just effort.

"Ok you two, I'm going to be blunt, you don't need to fill out those forms. But if you guys had done so and actually written anything of use on them we would've tortured you guys. But if you're going to be smart arses then we'll just cut to the chase. "

Seems Gonzola had seen what Alexis wrote on her paper.

"We worked for Winston. He knew that someone would come for him and he thought it would've been that dumb fuck Icarus, but seems you two landed the dream job of helping Winston vanish. He planned for the CDP to apprehend you guys since all marines know its no use fighting against them as it'll only bring about a bad name and the soldiers who do fight against them will most likely be dismissed or demoted hugely. Now cause you two were arrested as I'm sure you've noticed we've managed to convince the CDP to hand you over to us."

The man with the mask and blade on his back turned around. Revealing his black armoured torso. Colton looked at his white eyes which flickered between himself & Alexis.

"Now that we have our hands on you. Its time we finish the job. We moved you from Crescent Drop cause now the Navy have no idea where you guys are. And because of that we can be done with you without any worry that they'll find you."

Clicking his fingers Gonzola sat back whilst Vetis the contract killer in the armour removed his sword. Stepping forward he held his long black beautifully crafted sword horizontally in his hands and swept it quickly from left to right before he held the blade against Colton's neck.

Gonzola waved to both Colton & Alexis half heartedly with a smile on his face.

Beneath their feet the ground shook. Gonzola rasied an eyebrow as he looked up curiously, Vetis paused and looked towards Gonzola who shrugged his shoulders. Returning his gaze to Colton & his blade, Vetis drew back his sword.

Moments later a large portion of the top right corner of the room came crashing down along with a mountain of debris which crashed down over Gonzola. The room shook once mroe and dust rose into the air obscuring all sight. Vetis was knocked from his feet into the war dropping his sword.

Grunting, Colton felt his neck sliced open a little bit. Thankfully not the carotid artery. In the midst of the dust, Colton picked himself up and headed for the door which no longer remained.

"Come on Alexis!"

Buried beneath the rubble from the floors above Gonzola felt the weight of the upper floors pushing down on him whilst Vetis lay against the wall casting debris aside preparing himself to hunt down the two who'd been so lucky.

Running down the corridor Colton could feel his neck hurting and the blood streaking down his neck, torso and staining his shirt heavily. The sea stone cuffs made escape difficult for him, but when it was life and death, life was always an easy option.

It was better to get out of there now than remain.

Thankfully the merchant Captain who'd been in charge of the ship heading to Sky Reach hadn't felt the two soldiers deserved death today. Arriving within sight of Sky Reach large Marine battleships begun to pound on the protection centre from afar. Due to the protection centre being in the lower quadrant, no one really cared for their safety including the marines.

If it had been the upper quadrant, it would've been a different story.

Thanks for spilling your plan, dick.” she said at Gonzola’s little speech, shrugging. He was talking about how, why and what they were doing, at least they weren’t being tortured or anything so that was an up, the downside hwoever seemed to be that he was going to kill them outright. The black guy seemed to have a lot of armour on him, but really that didn’t matter; all he needed was a gas mask and he’d be set until someone peels him out of that armour of his. So it seemed that the marines didn’t like the CDP either, not that she knew about it much. She didn’t really know that much about it but they couldn’t just bomb them to heck because of their reputation.

Well, they were alone, Gonzola had them to a chair, handcuffed. Colton had sea-stone on hi mso he couldn’t just poof away. The black guy looked like he was having fun with his little toy as he swung it left and right, placing it against Colton’s neck. They forgot about one little detail, their legs were untied, so what she could do was kick him in the leg, jump behind him and then strangle the guy, but then that’d leave the pot-belllied old guy who just waved to both Alexis and Colton. She didn’t have time to think about it though.

She leaned forward, ready to kick out of her seat when suddenly the ground shook, the black armoured guy withdrew his blade from Colton, though still managed to cut him and then the corner of the room crashed down. Alexis blinked. “Well, looks like SOMEONE’s found us.” Alexis remarked, though she wasn’t really sure who. Then again, the person who caused the building to crumble didn’t seem to really care if they were in it. She saw the debris fall down onto Gonzola. “Pfah! Eat that, you fat four-eyed bastard!” she shouted, watching Colton get up, his neck was bleeding a little though that didn’t seem to stop him.

She nodded, getting up and jogging after Colton, she backtracked a little and hoped to pick up the sword, if it was too much trouble she’d just leave it. It looked like he was lagging behind, but she stayed by him since they had more of a chance escaping by working together. She glanced out of the window and noticed the flying blue and white colours of the marines, though she couldn’t’ stop now. “Looks like the unfindable base has been found.” she said, continuing on with Colton, hoping to find a staircase or maybe remember where they had come from.

Reaching the door to the long winding corridor Colton found that much of it had been bombarded with holes ripped in the roof of the corridor, however all that he'd seen upon looking up had been debris crashing down and behind them as the two of them rushed more and more came crashing down.

Feeling confident that the two who were going to kill them were buried Colton reached the door and attempted to must up some form of strength till he discovered his body just falling limp. Looking back for Alexis who he spotted with the sword from Vetis he grinned.

"Alexis, cut these cuffs. I can't do jack shit with them on."

He needed cuffs gone to ensure their safety. The second they were gone he could blast this door and the deadbolt lock clean off and blast a way out despite the debris which continued to crash down around them and would eventually land on them.

Alexis and Colton soon reached the door, the whole castle was crashing in on itself. Didn’t the guy say that they had no chance to the escape because the marines DIDN’T KNOW THEY WERE HERE? Or maybe the marines didn’t know, maybe it was some raid or something, that they finally pinned some evidence on the CDP or whatever and they were launching an assault against them to pick a thorn out of their side.

Colton looked backwards and saw that she had the sword. She didn’t really like using weapons, they were for cowards who couldn’t use their own fists, but she couldn’t use her own fists right now due to the bloody handcuffs so she made an exception for now. “Mighty cool, ain’t it? Hopefully it’ll cut through.” she said as she placed the tip of the blade onto the chain of the handcuffs, before raising it and swinging it down with all of her might. “You’ll do my next, right?” she asked, nodding to her own cuffs. But yeah, she really needed to hurry, the place didn’t look at all stable at the moment.

Nodding Colton watched as the shackles that had bound his wrists and sucked him of the little energy he had. Pulling his wrists apart Colton smirked. I felt great to be free once again with sea stone where it belonged. On the ground. Feeling the ground shake once more the building was falling apart and Colton didn't have time to free Alexis.

Placing a hand on the lock Colton started to use his ash powers.

Serpent Spit I

Burning the lock away almost instantly Colton smirked and kicked the door open. Flying open Colton gestured to Alexis.

"Come on, lets get out of here now before anything else happens to us. I'll get your cuffs off in a sec."

Crumbling the roof above them both started to crash down atop them and they needed to make a move and quick. Realizing he didn't need to run Colton started to drift. Looking at Alexis he decided he could offer her a helping hand.

"I can fly us out of here." he said suggestively.

Alexis was about to complain before she heard more rumbling from the roof, shed managed to free Colton but they didn’t’ seem to have enough time to free her, at least the guy who could pretty much fly was able to help her escape. He started to burn away the lock and kicked the door open. Alexis followed him, nodding at his suggestion of getting the hell out of there.

They were at the roof, it was quite tall. Colton started to drift a little as he realised that he didn’t actually have to run. “Yeah, that’ll help.” she replied to his suggestion of flying, she went to grab his hand with her free one, still holding the cool sword in the other. It was strong enough to break through seastone, she liked it. The least she could do was sell it off in the black market or maybe even get a promotion for handing it in. Personal power gain.. Or personal wealth gain.. Both were pretty tempting to her.

Feeling her fingers wrap around his hand Colton knew she'd agreed and as another part of the ceiling fell towards them, Colton dragged them both into the threshold of the door they'd just come through allowing the debris to crash down. As it stopped and more of the ceiling further down crashed inwards dust rose up. Colton seized his opportunity and drifted up through the gap. Feeling some more smaller pieces of brick work fall down, he only felt it pass through him and if anything pick up a little heat and drag some ash away with it.

Drifting through the remains of the protection station he caught sight of dozens of others struggling to escape, but knew he couldn't aid them. Spotting a floor with a window close by he quickly took aim with his free hand.

Serpent Shot II

Shattering the window Colton dashed through it with Alexis in hand.

Drifting a safe distance from the protection station Colton lowered himself & Alexis to the ground. landing beside her he smiled at her, then looked back towards the station and what now remained. It was still half standing, but more of it was in a pile of rubble than standing. He watched as people sprinted from the station and its destruction became apparent.

Sighing Colton warmed up his hands and placed one over the cuffs restraining Alexis's hands.

Serpent Shot II

Shattering the chain which was now ridiculously hot Colton dropped his arm at his side.

"What do you suggest we do now?"

Huh, Coltin was useful for something other than melting through people’s faces? Appreciation for Colton +1, he was at a good ol’ -2 now. They flew through the broken base, through the debris and some bricks fell through Colton, thankfully missing her by a couple of centimetres. She wondered if she could go ahead and ride him like a horse, but he’d probably not appreciate that and it was at his choice whether to drop her or not. The entire situation had gone not the way they’d planned, for them nor the CDP it seemed, at least she’d managed to nab a good sword from it.

She glanced a little down, some people were trying to escape but they were probably either arseholes or dickheads, so she didn’t have as much sympathy for them, unless they were innocent bystanders of course, then that’d be a bloody old shame. SOonn they reached a good, healthy distance and watched the destruction of the base, “Y’know, if I ever get my own ship, I’d like it made of metal. The dents’ll be annoying but at least it won’t sink.” she said, shrugging and letting go of Colton’s hand. She nodded in thanks to him with a wry smile. He soon melted off the cuffs and she rubbed her wrist.

Er, well, we can go after Winston, go off to the marine boat to be saved, or go get that tone dial I picked up from the base. Oh yeah, you were unconscious, I got this dial while you were fighting the guy who gave you a massive conk on the head and there was some guy getting killed by Winston, and something about the CDP or whatever.” she said, shrugging. Either of the three sounded good, their objective was to capture the ex-admiral and they hadn’t quite completed that yet.

Listening to what Alexis said Colton realized that their equipment was gone. It had been in the station. Sighing he realized it was as good as gone. All of it was probably destroyed beneath the remains of the station.

"We can't go after Winston, we have no idea where he's headed. He used our attempt to arrest him to vanish. But we can contact the Marines. let them know of our whereabouts and the situation."

Whilst Alexis spoke about a tone dial which said about the CDP & Winston murdering someone Colton's interest was piqued.

"That tone dial would be immensely useful if we could get our hands on it. But I think that might require us searching the rubble." Looking back towards it Colton sighed again. He had plans but didn't really want to carry them out. They just meant too much effort.

"Ok, how about this. I'm going to try and contact the Navy. I'm sure if I head up there I can find some way of contacting them. If this attack is them we can call it off, if its pirates we can call for back up. Whilst you stay here and help the citizens around. They look like they could use a helping hand."

More cannon balls tore through the sky and crashed into the station and even pummelled the houses around crushing them beneath their weight. The roofs were ripped from houses and cast unto the ground.

Landing beside Alexis was a woman who was knocked over trying to run from the large pile of debris that was now her home. As a roof shot past her it knocked her on to her stomach in front of Alexis. Struggling to get back up the lady was heavily pregnant. She looked up at Alexis for help. Colton noticed her as well and nodded towards Alexis.

"I'll be right back." he said before shooting off into the sky leaving behind a faint trail & scent of ash. Shooting up through the sky he aimed for Heaven's Smile leaving Alexis to save lives and help people in Hell's Frown.

Alexis then remembered that her own gear was caught up in the building, and probably hidden beneath piles of rubble, great. Her sea-stone knuckles were gone too, she really needed those. She listened to Colton and then sighed, agreeing. “Yeah, off you pop.” she replied,  seeing the pregnant woman being knocked down and going off to help. She would attempt to grab her hand and heave her back up to her feet. “You won’t get anyplace on the ground,  sweet.” she said, attempting to influence her movements via gentle pushing off and away from the Castle.

She noticed a group of people with misplaced homes, they were staring around at the artillery bombarding the island. She ran over to them, “Oi, time to move!” she said, pointing toward the edge of the island.
“But where can we go?”
You’ll be going everywhere if you don’t start moving.

The Contractor 21kfaXG

Landing atop the upper quadrant of Sky Reach a town known as Heaven's Smile he looked around to see how vastly different everything was. The town was nice, clean simple and people seemed happy. Looking over Colton they turned up their noses and gave him disgusted looks.

Pompous arseholes he thought to himself.

Making his way through the town, Colton started to realize he couldn't spot a single Marine anywhere. He questioned why till his brain figured it out. Non Marine protected island. Realizing this Colton started looking around for any sign of someone who was authority. He quickly calculated the people around him, but no one seemed of an authoritative nature. Cursing quietly beneath his breath he heard the sound of a scream.

Turning to find the source he discovered a young lady pointing towards a gentleman who seemed dirty like he belonged in the lower quadrant where he'd just come from. He had the same general appearance of a man from below.

"Somebody stop that Risen Demon!" the lady shouted. Colton couldn't understand her choice of words and merely put his foot out tripping the thief. Falling over his foot and rolling the thief dropped the purse. Colton reached down and picked it up. As the lady ran towards Colton and was given it back by Colton the thief got to his feet to which the lady made a hasty retreat.

"What the fack's wrong with you?"

The thief shouted as he squared up to Colton.

I don't much like crooks." Colton replied.

"But we've gotta stick together us Risen Demons. These fuckas don't care bout us so we shouldn't bout them."

"Risen Demons? What are you on about?" Colton asked when he realized a spear had shot through his torso and through the thief's lower torso too.

Hitting the ground in agony clutching the spear the thief seemed to be down for the count. Turning around Colton found himself staring up at three men who looked like they belonged in some secret ancient ninja organisation.

These men were the Sky Reach Half Way Warriors and after watching a spear fly through Colton without as much as a single scrape the expression on their faces was priceless.

Accepting her hand and rising to her feet once more as another artillery shell slammed into the ground sending shrapnel from a near by building into the air impaling a few citizens who attempted to flee, the pregnant woman quickly thanked Alexis before continuing to run out of danger and into shelter that a few people had taken refugee in. An old sewer tunnel which ran through the streets.

Whilst the group who had asked where they can go were told they'd get a move on by Alexis they nodded and started to run looking for a place of safety. Another large cannon shot through the chimney of a home knocking it down and shattering the building. In the dust that rose and smoke from the flames the sight of a large chunk was seen crashing down towards a small family who cuddled together beneath the falling debris too scared to move, too scared to anything really. Frozen in fear they hugged each other tightly.

((Sorry about the delay))

Alexis nodded as she saw that the family was running to safety, “Try the beach, away from the ships!” she’d say, there they would be less likely to have falling debris squashing them, though a bit more likely to get shelled, which was why she told them to be away from them, funnily enough. Though it it was the marines, they should be fine, as long as they don’t go around waving weapons that would make them shoot the guys in retaliation.

Turning around, she ducked a little as a cannonball tore through a chimney and moved behind a chunk of rock to avoid any bits of it hitting her. She saw a bunch of people sitting on the floor like morons, and looked up to see a bit of the chimney coming down. “What the hell are they.. ” she muttered, running toward the family. “Move it, move it!” she’d yell, hoping that the sword was strong enough to stop a chimney, she would try to kick over the members of the family who were too tall and shove the sword into the ground, if it was strong enough maybe it’d be able to break the chimney piece in half and fall to the ground beside them, even if it did fall on one of them, its momentum would be stopped and only moderate wounds would be had.

"What the hell are you?!"

One of the Half Way Warriors questioned holding his ground and spear directed towards Colton who scratched his head and yawned.

These people seemed truly freaked out and scared shitless of him. Having been a logia for such a long time though he'd gotten used to it and didn't see it as so strange any more, even if others did.

"Sorry, Colton Ryker, I'm a member of the Navy."

One of the few warriors got to his feet and quickly made his way towards Colton clutching his spear tightly.

"A marine eh? Well. Isn't that funny." he said as the two other begun to laugh and take a few steps closer. The one who was now spearless removed a small cross bow from his back and took aim at Colton.

"We've just received word from a special benefactor that there were Marines on this island who wish to do us 'arm. And your the only Marine I see."

Colton didn't like the sound of this nor was he bothered with it. As he took a long time to blink he caught a glimpse of the man's snail phone hanging from his waist and did a double take.

The snail had the same face that the man with the mask had.

The Contractor GM7UJuL

Thankfully the voice of Alexis had shook the family from their bout of frozen-in-place-syndrome. Moving and screaming as they made their exit the sword that Alexis used to shield them was more than capable. Sadly it was also not hers and wouldn't be for much longer.

As the debris fell around Alexis thanks to the sword and it crumbled hitting the ground a shadow shot towards Alexis and before any form of a reaction could be found the shadow was gone.

But the blade had a new set of fingers slithering around it tightly and a nice new device had just revealed itself beside Alexis's head with Vetis's fingers on the trigger.

Phew, luckily her well-thought plan worked, she glanced at them running, with the blade dug in a little onto the ground, she wretched it free, sighing with relief. She blinked as she saw a flicker of darkness, another bit of rock? She looked around, but there didn’t’ seem to be any more explosions coming from her immediate area. Looking back, someone else was holding the weapon.

With a curse, she would let go of the sword. Okay, looks like that guy with the black armour was back, and this time with a gun. She had to think of something. She jerked her head forwards and tried to place her head alongside the gun’s barrel, not in its way though, she would attempt to push it backwards with the back of her head and send a kick toward his midsection. Maybe dropping the sword’d distract him for a moment.

As the warriors advanced towards Colton he knew they couldn't touch him, but they didn't seem to know this. The first of whom pounced towards Colton only to receive an agonising burn around his neck.

Scolding the guards neck and sending him into a fit of coughing Colton flickered his eyes back towards the other two. Raising his right hand with an open palm he quietly said.

"Whose next?" stepping back the two guards seemed to get the message. They couldn't touch him, but he could touch them. Fear. The last resort for a marine, or at least it should be.

Things were taking a turn for the worse and Colton wasn't liking this. Turning his attention towards the sea he could see that the Marine ships were still firing away. He needed to contact the ships.

Aiming his hand towards the den den mushi of he half way warriors who were making their exit, Colton shot a small ash projectile knocking it free. The guard turned to face Colton before realising it was him and decided to leave it.

Snatching the snail phone up Colton was ready to pt an end to this situation once and for all.

The Contractor GM7UJuL

As Alexis's fingers let go of the blade it was only seconds before Vetis & the blade were now gone. Alexis's attack was a pure failure. The man in the mask vanished from sight. Another cannon ball came crashing down heavily into the ground and sent debris in all directions. Landing worryingly close to Alexis the debris was sent towards her.

However not only had Vetis escaped the rubble so had his partner in crime.

Gonzola stood in slightly torn clothing with a bloody gash on the right side of his face staring at Alexis.

"Well, well, well. Look who we've got here." he said with narrowed eyes and a grin that seemed to say 'I'm gonna gut you.' Stretching his arms out either side Gonzola seemed to be somehow getting bigger in size and his skin started to take on a different colour & texture.

Something wasn't right.

Alexis almost fell over as she finished her maneuverer, not having any support to fall back on, he up and left the moment she let go of the blade. “Dammit.” there went her momentarily-increased-wage-by-a-large-margin. She looked up as another cannon caused more debris to land to her, cursing she jogged away from the building.

She looked around to check if there was any danger and.. Yep. Pot-belly was there. “Well, shit.” she’d say as she saw Gonzola. She blinked as he started to get larger, and his skin started to become a different colour.

Aw, shit.” she’d mutter, picking up a rock and aiming it toward his face as a distraction, throwing it she ran toward one of the broken pieces of rock and vaulted over it, trying to think of something that’ll either:

The Contractor 21kfaXG

Quickly dialling for the Navy Colton quickly worked away doing his best to make contact with the ships to stop the barrage of cannon fire on the island. He needed to help Alexis even if he couldn't be bothered, he wasn't a complete dick head.

As a voice came into contact with him Colton opened his mouth to speak.

"Hello?"

"Hello, this is -"

Colton was cut off when the shell of the snail shattered and the snail itself fell limp in his open palm. Leaking out on to his hand the blood of the snail and to his right stood the masked man with a gun in hand and smoke billowing from the barrel.

"Shit!" Colton muttered as their eyes came into contact and his fear set in, this man meant business and seeing the sea stone hand cuffs in hand he knew that he wanted blood.

Well a contract killer had to make money too.

"Vetis"
Contract Killer
• Skilled Swordsman
• Eagle Eye
• Advanced Military Combatant
• Blinding Speed

The Contractor GM7UJuL

Standing at a height of 17 feet with razor sharp claws on both feet & hands, razor sharp teeth and a face which looked almost dinosaur like, Gonzola stood stood in his hybrid form with a fierce grin on his face and thick textured skin covering his body. With his shirt torn open and hanging from his torso whilst his pants became shorts Gonzola was now more beast than man.

Gonzola "The Reptilian Hunter"
Sky Reach Protection Commissioner
• Kyōryū Kyōryū no Mi: Model: Allosaurus
• Strategist
• Immense Strength
• Incredible Resilience

Ready to bring down the woman he was being paid to deal with Gonzola didn't want to displease Mr Winston.

They had a good thing going and failing to complete this job would only ruin that and he knew that. Vetis could handle Colton easily & Gonzola was certain Alexis wouldn't be a problem, she was just some girl with an whole bunch of anger issues out of a marine uniform and her comfort zone. Soon she'd been in the ground a place where she'd be in the ground. A place where she truly belonged.

Alexis glanced over the rock she was using as cover and grunted, loking back down. “Gaaah, fuck me.” she groaned, she was fighting against a bloody zoan user. The guy was massive, at least fifteen feet tall, maybe taller. She couldn’t recognise the creature he had turned into, some kind of reptile thing. All right, she had to lure him around maybe.

She ran toward one of the buildings still left standing, the higher the better, she would dive into it and start running up the stairs, hopefully it’d be away from any windows. If successful she would aim to go to the top of the place.

The Contractor 21kfaXG

"I have a job to do and I will follow it through."

Vetis's voice surprised Colton, it was much deeper, darker & sinister than he'd thought it would be. Allowing the snail remains to ooze from his hand Colton wiped it off on his trousers and turned to face Vetis. It seemed now it was one on one and he was going to have to cast his laziness to one side.

Vetis had his hands on sea stone and that was awfully troublesome.

Before Colton had the chance to speak he found himself already having to deal with a charging Vetis. Making his move Vetis was speeding towards Colton with his sword in hand and beneath the mask a grin plastered over his face.

Colton held his position & cast both hands forward one at a time.

Serpent Spit I ash shot forth in all directions like the blasts from a shotgun. Tearing up anyone who'd dare come close and singeing them. Unfortunately Vetis was smarter than that.

In the midst of the ash which had shot forth, Vetis had taken advantage of the blind spot and leapt into the air. Throwing himself into a flip Vetis threw down the sea stone hand cuffs towards Colton's extended hands.

As the cuffs landed and locked into place around Colton's wrists he felt drained and a sudden sheer surge of shock shivered throughout his body. Folding up like a deck chair Colton looked up to see Vetis unfurling with his sword in hand and bringing it down unto Colton's weakened body.

Diving with the little strength he could muster up Colton did his best to avoid contact with such a vile looking weapon.

Slicing down Colton's back the blade ripped open a large chunk of Colton's shirt and his back which begun to bleed furiously. Screaming in pain, Colton managed to pick himself up and turned to face Vetis before he made his next move.

The Contractor GM7UJuL

Watching the little girl flee, Gonzola gave chase with haste. As she entered a building Gonzola smirked. He clearly knew a little more about this building than she did. This large building that Alexis was currently running through was scheduled for destruction anyway.

Taking a run up and charging towards the building Gonzola threw himself into a ball and managed to roll into the middle of the building shattering the wall. Crashing through into the large open foyer of the hotel he continued to roll shattering the struts to the building on the back.

Crashing out of the other side, Gonzola leapt up out of the ball and planted two feet on the building whilst in mid air. Giving a simple kick with both feet he quickly turned the large building's tipping point the other way.

Beginning to crumble and tip the opposite way to Gonzola he watched as the large building begun to fall to its demise. Despite killing dozens of other citizens of the lower quadrant Gonzola would be happy with himself for killing the one person he was hired to kill.

Alexis Fisher would be a problem no more when buried beneath the rumble.
