Zanzō Zanzō no Mi

Post by Alistair on Tue Apr 07, 2015 4:21 pm

Devil Fruit Name: Zanzō Zanzō no Mi

Translation: Afterimage Afterimage Fruit

Appearance of the Fruit: This Devil Fruit, of a silverly color, is shape-wise
very similar to a kiwi, being the size of a fist and presenting a velvety texture on the edges.
Its flavor is specially nasty, but the worst part is the inside of the fruit's texture, as when the
user chews into it, the fruit sticks to their mouth as if it were a gum ball. This texture that
makes swallowing the fruit difficult, along with the vomit-like flavor, makes the user sick in very
little time, though if they can chew onto it quick enough, with a bit of luck (and drinking)
the flavor will go away.

Type: Paramecia

Abilities of the fruit: This fruit makes the user an Afterimage Human, giving
the eater of the fruit the power to repeat actions automatically. For example, should he decide to
use his power while punching someone, the punch ''movement'' would leave a slower afterimage, then
a slower one, until they finally stop. Even though the physical capabilities of the user are
heightened, the afterimages are a bit slower and less powerful after each hit, so they get easier
to block or evade. This power can have many variations, as the afterimages the user leaves can
repeat any actions the user makes, so it can be used even for day to day situations. Later on, the
user could control the afterimages' movements (though this would pay a toll on their mind, as it's
not easy to be two persons at the same time), as well as pass down his powers onto something else
(for example, making an object repeat a certain movement a few times over) All afterimages can
mantain themselves for as long as the user is using his power, but they do lose power after a while,
so the user needs to make them dissapear and remake them again each post. This weakness dissapears
after the 3rd level.

Weaknesses: The afterimages don't follow orders, but rather movements, so if
an attack fails, the afterimages' attacks will probably fail as well. Even when the user can control
the movements of the afterimages, it puts a heavy strain on the mind of the Devil Fruit user, who
after using this power is more propense to receiving attacks since he's off guard and having a
headache. Passing his power down onto objects rather takes a toll on his body, straining them as if
he had just went through a heavy weight lifting. Standard Devil Fruit Weaknesses.

Devil Fruit Progression:

Level 1-Level 2: 2 threads
Level 2-Level 3: 3 threads
Level 3-Level 4: 4 threads
Level 4-Level 5: 5 threads

Mastery levels
1st Level
-The user gains the ability to make 3 afterimages of himself, potentially multiplying the offensive
power of the user and allowing him to multitask with ease.

2nd Level
-The user gains the ability to make 5 afterimages of himself, potentially multiplying the offensive
power of the user and allowing him to multitask with ease.
-The user can now change the direction of the afterimages. For example, let's say there's a party
and he's working as a butler. If he took a dish and carried it to a table using his power
passively, the afterimages would take more dishes and carry them to other tables at the user's
mental command, without actually changing the original movement. In battle, this can be used to hit
different body parts when attacking, rather than hitting in the same place a few times. As this
doesn't count as actually changing the behavior of the afterimages, it doesn't tire out the user's
mind.

3rd Level
-The user gains the ability to make 7 afterimages of himself, potentially multiplying the offensive
power of the user and allowing him to multitask with ease.
-The user can now change the direction of the afterimages. For example, let's say there's a party
and he's working as a butler. If he took a dish and carried it to a table using his power

doesn't count as actually changing the behavior of the afterimages, it doesn't tire out the user's
mind.
-The user is now able to control directly the afterimages, basically dividing his mind between them
although this carries a heavy burden on the user's mind. The longer the user controls them and the
more afterimages he makes, the heavier headache he'll get after ending the ability.
-The user is now able to pass down his powers onto objects. For example, if the user shoots a gun
then lets go of it in the air, the pistol will stay in the air, shooting again and again to a max.
of seven times (the bullets are afterimages, so there's no need to reload). However, doing this
for long periods of times or using it too frecuently in battle strains the user's body eventually,
so it's nearly a last resort. The user can pass down his powers to any object within his range of
sight that has a movement in the moment he sees it, though the farther the object is, the heavier
the strain on the body of the user.

Level 4
-The user gains the ability to make 10 afterimages of himself, potentially multiplying the offensive
power of the user and allowing him to multitask with ease.
-The user can now change the direction of the afterimages. For example, let's say there's a party
and he's working as a butler. If he took a dish and carried it to a table using his power

-The user is now able to control directly the afterimages, basically dividing his mind between them
although this carries a heavy burden on the user's mind. The longer the user controls them and the
more afterimages he makes, the heavier headache he'll get after ending the ability. On Level 4, the
strain is lessened, to the degree the user only starts feeling dizzy after controlling his a.i. for
a certain time.
-The user is now able to pass down his powers onto objects. For example, if the user shoots a gun
then lets go of it in the air, the pistol will stay in the air, shooting again and again to a max.

many more times before making the user's body uncomfortable.
-The user is now able to change positions between his afterimages, although he can't use this
ability while on a fight, as he has to stay completely serene to attempt such a feat as practically
teleporting (Plot ability, not used in fights)

To be perfectly honest I am not overly keen on the fruit however there isn't any aspects of over poweredness. The only thing that may be viewed as an unfair act is certain people not rping the mental stability the power causes. I feel like the Jōzan Jōzan no Mi fruit could've just been used instead as it allows a similar purpose. However I will approve it.
