Rouge Abel:

Standing at 5'1" with a petite build and pale peach colored skin, Rouge looks like a frail young woman, but she's not. Unlike some young woman her age, Rouge is lacking a little in the chest area. Narrow, almond shaped green eyes are framed by her bangs. Rouge has bright crimson hair that falls just past her shoulder blades. A little know fact about Rouge is that her hair is naturally slightly wavy, but she normally keeps it up in a high ponytail, rarely letting it fly free in the wind.

Rouge prefers to stick with more businesslike attire, which for her would consist of her bartending uniform. This uniform includes a long off-white short sleeved shirt underneath a dark gray vest with double the buttons. This vest has blue accents. With this, she wears a jet black thigh length skirt and thigh-high blue stockings. Her shoes are a pair of pitch black tennis shoes.

Accessories aren’t really her thing, but when Rouge isn’t wearing work attire, she’s been known to wear a necklace or scarf. In fact, separate from her work attire, Rouge has an entirely different outfit that she’ll wear regularly. It’s a simple, black dress paired with fishnet leggings and a pair of black combat boots. with this, she’ll wear a maroon scarf. No matter the occasion, when Rouge wears this she always leaves her hair down. With both outfits, Rouge will wear a pair of fingerless black leather gloves.


Personality: Absolutely 100% stubborn, Rouge will not budge once her mind is set on something. She rarely ever backs down from a challenge, and will always fight till the end. This stubbornness can be both a blessing and a curse. It aids in Rouge’s running of the bar while she is bartending, but also gets her into fights with the customers.

Rouge lives breathes and eats her work. Of course, it is a little odd for a 19-year-old to be running a bar. She herself refuses to drink. Her job allowed Rouge to see some people at their worst, and that is why drinking completely disgusts her. She instead prefers soda, and she actually has quite a sweet tooth. A bag of candies can always be found somewhere nearby when Rouge is around.

Most of the time, Rouge remains her quiet and stubborn self. This all changes when she is pissed off. She can go from quiet and somewhat docile to raging temper tantrum in a matter of seconds. Suddenly Rouge will become much louder and more violent. When Rouge is pissed, there is no stopping that punches will be thrown. While angry, Rouge is one of those attacks first, thinks later. This is the reason for constantly wearing gloves, so she doesn’t hurt her hands while throwing a tantrum.

As a fighter, Rouge prefers fists to using weapons. She bases most of her attacks on straight up punches and kicks and likes it that way. Even while not raging, Rouge isn’t afraid to fight. Often times, whether she’s angry or not, Rouge will be the first to throw a punch.

Relationships with others are hard for Rouge to come by, either they're intimidated by her serious nature or scared away by her raging temper. For Rouge, this was alright, as she’d never had much interest in relationships to begin with. A friend or two would have been nice, but she figured she was fine without that.


Character History


Background It was a cold winter when Rouge was born. She was the product of an affair her father was having. Rouge’s mother didn’t know he was married, and his wife didn’t know he was cheating. Everything blew up in his face when baby Rouge and her mother showed up on his doorstep. After some intense arguing, both Rouge’s mother and her father’s wife left to never return. Baby Rouge was left in her father’s arms crying.

Rufus Abel had no idea how to raise a child, let alone a little girl. With no help from the mother or his estranged wife, he had to figure it out on his own. He was clumsy and had a business to run. Rufus was the owner of a bar, where he worked night and day. He couldn’t just stop working, so he got a baby carrier and brought baby Rouge along. It was quite funny to see the owner working while trying to care for the child. When she was able to walk, Rouge was allowed to explore under the watchful eyes of a few of the bar’s regulars.

That was how Rouge grew up, with a life spent helping her father in the bar. By the time she was five, Rouge was like a little waitress, running food and drinks back and forth. This is also when bits of her personality began to set in. All the regulars who had watched her grow found how serious the little red-head was. Everyone said it was just a phase, but it wasn’t. That seriousness was there to stay.

Rufus wanted his daughter to get an education, so she started attending school. After five days, she was sent back home with an expulsion notice. Another child had been bullying her, up until  she snapped and beat the kid black and blue. Rouge then refused to attend any school whatsoever, which led to her unique homeschooling. She was taught in the bar, the regulars who had been coming since she was a baby all agreed to help teach the little girl. She learned math, reading, writing and a little bit of history. Rufus also taught his daughter something, self-defense. He would come to regret that later.

Rouge continued to grow up helping her father run the bar while learning from the regulars. Her temper became legendary amongst regular bar patrons. If Rouge got mad enough, she’d fight anyone. On more than one occasion her father had to drag her away from a fight. At the age of 11, Rouge was entered into some boxing and kickboxing classes, so she could better fend for herself in a fight. This was partially Rouge’s father, and partially Rouge herself. She wanted to get stronger so she wouldn’t lose the fights that she started.

Somehow, years went by. At the age of 16, Rouge and her father split up the shifts. Rouge was the day shift with the more docile crowd, where she would be less likely to start a fight while her father handled the rowdier night crowd. Another bartender was hired to work with Rouge during the day.

Close to her 18th birthday, Rouge’s father grew ill. He was bedridden for a long time before passing away. Rouge inherited everything but was upset over the loss of her father. She no longer wanted to be working at the bar, nor did she want to stay in her hometown. It was dreadful and dreary now that her father was gone. Rouge didn’t even have any friends, aside from those regulars who had watched her grow up. For them, and only them, did she keep the bar running. All the while, looking for an excuse to escape from that place.

She almost got her wish when five days before she turned 19, some hooligans set the building on fire. All Rouge could do was watch the place she’d grown up burn to the ground. The only thing that survived, was an antique pocket watch that belong to some ancestor of hers. Rouge should have taken that as her cue to leave. She should have just packed up and left, but she didn’t. Instead, she went for the hooligans. She knew exactly who they were, one was the son of a city official, and the boy she had beaten black and blue back in her five days at school. Once more she beat this guy black and blue and got his friends too.

Due to his father's position, this landed Rouge serving time in the cities jail.

Combat Information

Unarmed Combat:
Left/Right Hook - A curved punch aimed at the opponent's chin or gut.
Jab - The jab is similar to a straight up punch, but the hand is not clenched into a fist. Instead the hand is flat with the palm facing downward. There are several different uses for the jab, including defense.
Roundhouse Kick - The fighter (Rouge) performs a kick with a wide sweep of the leg and rotation of the body.
Elbow Strike - As the name implies, the fighter (Rouge) clasps her hands together and hits the opponent, normally in the chest or gut, with her elbow.
Sidekicks - A kick that is used while the fighter is standing sideways. They lift their leg and jab at the opponent.
