He nodded a bit, about both things, and reeled in his line one last time, and went to put it away, before heading to the helm. He began the process of lifting anchor and setting sail, turning away from the direction Taki had flown. After pointing them in a safer direction, because anywhere but the calm belt was a good idea at the moment, he left the helm after tying it in place, and headed for the sails, first releasing them, then tying them down so they would catch the wind. As they began moving, he climbed to the crows nest, and began to look in the various directions for... something, anything at that point. He wouldnt mind planting his feet on solid ground for a change, having been at sea for some time now.

He eventually found something, nodded, and went down to adjust their course. He called from the helm to her "I have spotted an island, we can get directions there if it is not Horseshoe Island." He didnt say it, but he also hoped that they could find a doctor willing and able to help his new large friend. And if they could get a doctor to join them, all the better. He stopped his train of thought, and smiled a bit. He was already thinking of her as crew, and he hadn't even asked her to join yet. He hoped that she would join, it would be a shame to get so close only to part ways never to see each other again.

Taki watched him put the fishing rods away, she hadn’t really gotten as many fish as him due to her ineptitude. As she noted before, she was much more used to grabbing rather than baiting. Eventually when she healed up maybe they could have competition, if she decided to stay, of course. Then again he was moving fairly close to the calm belt, and goodness knows the boat wouldn’t last half an hour after floating through it, so she didn’t really take him for much of a navigator. If not, who would sail without one> She shook her head. He really needed an actual crew, rather than rope.
 
Soon he called out to her, saying that he had managed to find an island. “Right.” she called back, before sighing. Holding the swollen, sore spot where he ribs had been broken she decided to not show herself to the public. “I’ve heard that the fishmen are uncommon here in the blues, so I’ll stay below.” she said, wincing as the weight of her chest caused more back pain, she was glad to walk into the pool where the weightlessness soothed both problems. She checked it out, it was a kind of aquarium so it allowed her to see into different rooms, maybe she should learnt how to read lips. She didn’t really know what he was thinking, buying a massive ship right off the bat. Oh well. Humans.

He made several mental notes of where exactly the island was, and lept down to the helm with a loud CRASH! He jumped up to his feet quickly. not wanting to be seen sprawled out like that. He grinned a sheepishly to himself, and then began to turn the helm in the proper direction, trying to be as accurate as he could be. He looked out from the side of the ship as best as he could, but couldn't be sure, so he tied up the helm, and made his way back up to the crows nest. It took him more time than he had wanted, but he did note that, while he was climbing up, that Taki had submerged herself and was disappearing into the aquarium it seemed. He hoped it was to her liking, as she was probably the one to make best use of it.

As he got to the nest, he made a quick first hand observation, and couldn't see anything other than water. He began looking through the various spy glasses set up, and eventually found the island he was trying to steer them towards. He was close, but off. At their current pace, they would pass it in no time instead of sailing to it, and that was not a great prospect. He climbed down this time, even if it was slower, walking across the small bridge that led from the Mast to the rest of the Deck, and up a set of stairs to the helm, where he made the small adjustments to the helm as needed. He took a deep breath, tasting the sea air, and letting it out slowly. It was a good evening, and had been a decent day. The thought of dinner past his mind, and he wondered if Taki would eat any of their catch raw, or if she would like it cooked. Black smithing and cooking were not exactly the same after all.

The aquarium wasn’t actually that bad, apart from the seaweed that he threw in it was clear, and the wood at the bottom seemed clear not to be ruined for a long time. She heard a noise coming from the top and she swam up to have a check, all seemed well, Kitsune was hared at work so she went back down again. She would need her own privacy area of course, curtains could be brought in for a sleeping area, she didn’t need a bed but she wanted to watch people while THEY slept, not the other way around.
 
But for now, all she’d have to do is wait, she couldn’t quite run or swim anywhere too far for a while and who knows? Maybe she’d decide to stay with the guy, it looked like he needed the help. With her, he wouldn’t need to run about setting all of the cannons once the navy starts to chase after him.

Walking below deck, he began to look through all the windows into the aquarium, looking for his new, injured, friend. The windows into the aquarium did not reveal all that was there, it was extensive if nothing else, and he didn't find her. So, he made his way to the kitchen, and began making something simple for himself. He began to boil some water, and threw in some vegetables, and cut up a small slab of pork, sliding it into the water when he cut it into sizes he liked.

He looked through the window again, seeing some of the fish they caught, and some others he had caught other times before Taki arrived. The water was boiling, and over the course of his cooking, it boiled over twice, but he saved the vegetables and meat, and made a half decent soup out of it. It was enough for him, and he took it above deck, sitting on the railing again as he ate. He stared out at the ocean, and around towards where the island was. It was becoming visible to the eye, and they would arrive soon, he thought. Before daybreak, by the look of it. He took a deep breath, staring at the island. "The beginning of adventure," was all he said, before taking another bite of soup.

Taki had found a blind spot. Yey.
