Appearance:
Kenjiro is a tall man of  6 feet and 3 inches, weighting 180 pounds. His complexion is very pale but healthy looking, he has a small scar on his lip from where he fell and hit his face as a child. Kenjiro's black hair is shaved into a buzz-cut and he sports a goatee, his eyes are sky blue which hold either a caring warmth for people or an icy stare for his enemies. Kenji wears a modified marine outfit which is a sleeveless duster jacket with the marine flag design on the back of it, his pants are white and tends to wear boots most of the time. Kenji has tattoos on his arms of clubs, hearts, spades and diamonds. Clubs and hearts belonging on his left arm with spades and diamonds on his right.

Personality: On the surface, Kenjiro seems to be a shallow and self-absorbed young man, infamous among many of his colleagues and subordinates alike for the selfish and narcissistic aura he gives off. Easily as arrogant as his young friend Keiji, Kenjiro is wont to act in an ostentatious manner and appears to act mostly out of self-interest rather than any sort of philanthropy. He comes off to most as a sort of cocky lay about, but quick to take action when it appears that there is glory and military fame to be gained. Kenjiro is expertly manipulative and prone to think several steps ahead of those around him, giving him a remarkable talent for making subordinates act exactly as he wishes despite appearing not to have had a hand in their decisions.

Kenjiro also has the reputation of being an incorrigible womanizer, and it's said he spends much of his time cavorting about town with various women and wooing several of the servicewomen with his abundant charm, good looks and charisma. This adds another facet to his unpopularity among the enlisted men, many of whom have had their sweethearts and crushes romanced away from them by his hand.

However, while these traits do have a place in his real personality, much of his outward persona can perhaps be considered an intentional façade perfectly designed to cause those unfamiliar with him to underestimate his remarkable intelligence and ability. Kenjiro is an exceptional tactician, well-versed in various strains of combat theory and particularly talented in the realms of surreptitious information-gathering, covert operations and enemy ensnarement.

At the core, he is a remarkably devoted commander whose primary focus and personal duty is to his friends and subordinates. Though he hides it well behind a veil of cynicism and self-importance, Kenjiro is a man who cares deeply about the people who trust and support him and goes to great lengths to ensure their safety and well-being, even at the risk of his own. As a man with considerable power, Kenjiro considers himself a protector to those without and acts accordingly, earning the staunch loyalty of his most trusted compatriots.

Unfortunately, his self-imposed position as protector has caused him to display a penchant toward stubbornness in regards to his pride on the field and a fiery temper, both of which have been shown to cloud his judgment in certain situations.



Character History


Background
Childhood (Birth-12): Kenjiro was born into the marine base of Loguetown to a female Commodore and a male Ensign. The two were married so it was to expected to happen eventually. Since birth Kenjiro was shown the marine life style and he would often as a toddler watch the marines train and see many pirates get caught on their way in. Kenjiro saw how strong and respected many of the marines were and that cause him to wish to become one since a young age.

Around age 6 is when his father and mother began training him, albeit nothing like actual recruits were doing. He'd go on small jogs with his father and his mother would have him do light workouts (ie, a few push ups a few pull ups, simple stuff for a six year old). When he began entering his pre-teens is when they began really training the young man. His father would often have them race, doing laps around town and his mother giving him a full recruit training regiment. He continued this training all through his life until he enlisted, later in his teenaged years.

Teens(age 13-19): It was around age 13 when a man had come into Loguetown and brought with him a strange fruit. Kenjiro was interested in it due to it's strange look and used the money he had saved up to buy it and ate it. The fruit tasted horrible and when he was finished he accidentally activated the ability of his new fruit, firing off a gunshot from his newly formed gun finger. Rushing home his parents, not knowing what to do took him to the bases doctor who explained of devil fruits to the boy. He told him he was now a walking armory and would become a great asset to the marines should he enlist.

This began inflating the boys ego but he was quickly cut down by his mother. She instead began teaching the boy tactics and instead told him to keep a cocky façade while keeping his true nature hidden underneath. He would train on his own time with his mother teaching him tactician abilities and his father teaching him combat theory. This lead to Kenji becoming a smart man of whom was able to hide his true self under a cocky, self loving, womanizing persona.

At age 15 Kenjiro became a recruit and his job would often be to help marines load their ships, it was here that a young man had attempted to climb aboard  and was caught then promptly thrown off board. Kenji felt bad for the kid, hoping if he were to leave that he'd do it in an honorable way instead of sneaking onto some ship. At age 18 Kenji had quickly climbed the ranks becoming an Ensign much like his father through hard work and capturing several small time pirates.

Adulthood(20-present):
It was during his search for Wynter that Kenjiro had made his largest bounty capture, a man of 14,000,000 who Kenji had launched a sneak attack on. He had managed elude the marines for awhile but Kenji had caught wind of him in town square and rallied fellow marines to capture him. The entrances were blocked off, marines were on every corner and Kenji himself had cornered the man and crippled his right leg via gunshot forcing him to surrender. For capturing the man and showing to be well versed in tactics, Kenjiro was promoted to the rank of captain and gifted a warship of which to use on his own and to make his own crew of marines.

It was on his 21rst birthday that Kenjiro got his tattoos and his father gave him his modified marine uniform, of which was a duster. At age 24 Kenjiro had returned to his home town to see the execution stand destroyed, he was approached by a woman who asked him to bring home her son, the one who burnt down the stand. Kenji viewed it as his goal to do so as the boy had destroyed a monument to the town and agreed. Deciding he would need a crew Kenjiro sent out a message to all bases telling them that he was now recruiting marines.

• Why was Kenjiro interested in the strange fruit?

• Why did his parents take him to the base commander? Its like finding out that suddenly your son has an amazing ability to sing and taking him to a school to learn to play a musical instrument. It doesn't really add up fully. If his parents were concerned about him, I think they'd take him to a doctor or someone first. Not Here base commander look at my son he's a walking armoury.

• I said I am fine with the bit about Wynter's mother contact Kenjiro to bring him back, however it is impossible for this to happen when he is 19 as Wynter didn't make his big debut as a pirate until he was 24. Wynter was 24 when he burnt down the platform of roger and that was when he made his first act of piracy and announcement that he would become a pirate.

I put the request in his adult section and he accepted due to Wynter's burning down of the execution stand.
