[Serious/Solo] Capture Empty [Serious/Solo] Capture

It was dark again. The streets that were once bustling with life soon turned cold and silent. No one wanted to walk alone in this city. If you did, you were on the fast track to hopefully just losing your money. Yet, not all was quiet upon the other west side.  The marines were dealing with another den of drugs. They were doing a good job, but from her vantage point she saw one jump out of the window and make a run for it. In his arms he held a bag, probably full of dirty money or the substance the marines were clearing. Rope bolt, she fired at the nearby roof and swung toward the man. Silent and swift,  she kicked him in the back and placed her knee onto him. “D-don’t hurt me!” he cried out. “What’s this?” she asked, emptying out the bag’s contents. Plastic bags of some purple liquid. “It looks like the kind of thing people are very… Liable to get hurt over.” She had no idea what it actually was, but perhaps from her bluff he would slip a little information. “N-no! It’s… IT’S MINE.” suddenly with new-found strength, he pushed up, tossing her a couple of meters into the air, where she had to roll in order to prevent falling damage. Ripping open one of the bags and consuming the contents, he let out a load grunt and screamed but a simple word: “MINE.” his bones creaked as fat hardened and turned into muscle. His face became red as he consumed more and more of the product.  She loaded her crossbow and sent a Pepper bolt towards him. The blunt force did little to nothing against him, and the pepper made him angrier. Finally, he seemed to have drank enough, he took one step forward, beat his chest and roared at her.

She was running, tossing barrels behind her to hinder the monster that was running after her. It was quicker, but didn’t quite have the finesse to vault or jump over obstacles. Instead, he slowed himself down by punching it out of the way or crushing them. “HERE. COME HERE.” he barely even sounded human, which prompted Fayde to run faster. Running was getting her nowhere, and she really didn’t want a full-on confrontation. She felt a bead of sweat on her eyebrow. Was it fear that created the knot in her stomach that clenched every time she heard him come closer and closer, only giving slight relief whenever she slowed him down? She couldn’t run forever, she needed to hide. Reloading on the run was a difficult task, instead she took an Oil bolt from her quiver and waited, the moment she past a barrel, she tossed it onto the ground and threw the oil underneath it, causing it to splash over the floor. A couple of moments later she heard an enraged sound. Behind her she saw that indeed, the hulking abomination picked up the barrel and didn’t see the oil underneath, causing him to fall over. She saw a dumpling cart, empty and on the left side of the street. She jumped over the small counter and hid within it. It was small, and meant to be able to be moved easily by one person. “RUN. CAN’T HIDE.” Where were the marines? She needed backup, and a lot. She tried to calm her breathing, but it wouldn’t stop. Running behind a monster made you exhausted, running in front of a monster made you tired. It became silent, did he run off? STUPID WOMAN.” she heard, before she felt the feeling of the cart rising.

The cart was going through the air, at the moment she felt gravity lose its weight, she heard gunshots from afar. “Take it down!” was a snippet of what she heard over the gunfire, but she was too focused on her wellbeing. The cart rolled and rolled, causing her to bump all over the place, she hit her head and became discombobulated, she couldn’t focus. Kicking open the doors to the cart, she crawled out and tried to stand up. Her legs gave way a couple of seconds later and she fell to the floor. “It’s that vigilante, sir!”

“Did she cause all this?”

“Dunno, but that thi-IT’S COMING RIGHT FOR US” She could barely understand anything after that. She tried to crawl somewhere, anywhere but it was a blur. She felt something large grab her by the chest and pick her up. She felt herself move somewhere, then go upside down. Moments later she felt the ice cold feeling of water, was she being dunked in a barrel? She felt herself rise again and opened her mouth to breathe, only to be dunked in again halfway through, filling her lungs with water. It tossed her across the street and she landed on a fruit cart. She coughed up liquid (thankfully water, not blood) and was finally able to concentrate. It was the man, he did NOT look happy.  “No… TAKE.” he shouted, before punching her in the chest, taking the air out of her and causing her to become airborne onto a wooden surface, more than likely a house. This time, when she next coughed something up it was blood. Pain racked her ribs and stomach, clutching it with her arms, she looked up. She felt like she was going to be sick. “END YOU.” he brought both his arms up, and was ready to bash her into the ground before someone climbed up behind him and poured liquid into his mouth. It was… Purple? “N-no.. make…” was all she could muster before coughing up another wallop of blood. She heard an enraged growl turn into a frightened whimper. What… The man was increasing in size again, so much so that his body couldn’t’ sustain its own weight and fall over. “I’ve got you, don’t worry.” She heard, it sounded familiar. Was it that lieutenant that she met during the snake-head gang assault? She felt herself lose consciousness.

She awoke. She was in a hospital bed with bandages all over her torso and stomach. Trying to move hurt her, so she stayed still. Most of what happened was a blur, but she remembered running away from something, and the purple liquid and the man. It wasn’t like anything she had seen before, in a moment he had strength to rival if not more than the pirate captain that practically enslaved her. She felt herself sicken, she was vulnerable and she didn’t like it. But she couldn’t move, her legs ached and her arms were bruised from the impacts of… Last night? The day before? Someone came in. The doctor looked at a piece of paper and gave her the program: “Seven broken rips, three fractured and one nearly penetrated your lungs, you’re quite lucky.” He said. “They’ve been healing on their own, you’ve just needed a little bit of blood, that’s all.. You’d lost quite a bit. Once we hooked you up to that pouch your healing rate has been miraculous.”

How long have I been out?” she asked, and hoped it wasn’t…
“A couple of weeks, you went into a just after lieutenant Grayham brought you in, said you banged your head. Don’t worry, your things are next to you on the bed. If you continue to heal like you have, you should be up in no time.” Was it due to the blood? She always felt better after drinking from someone’s neck, and small cuts usually healed quite quickly. It made larger cuts feel better, though it was slow. Could it be that her fruit powers slowly healed her? She nodded to the doctor. “Thank you.

“At least, if you survive the night.” The doctor said, turning around and leaving, closing the door on her. What? She tried to get up, only to feel the same weight as before. She struggled a little, before seeing that underneath the covers she was tied to the bed. Was that man even a doctor? They must’ve been waiting for her to regain consciousness before attacking, whoever they were. They wanted to see her squirm like a bug beneath their boot. In short, she was in danger and could barely move. She struggled at the ropes binding her. If she could just…  For the next half an hour she tightened and relaxed her muscles, hoping to make the bindings loose enough to escape. They were tight, and they wouldn’t budge. She couldn’t move at all, she saw her crossbow on the other side of the room, out of her reach completely. They mocked her, but it didn’t’ wound as much as it could have, they might’ve just placed it a couple of centimetres away. Breathing slowly, she couldn’t find a way out. There were ropes on top of the ropes which supported the others, and they prevented the first ones from becoming lax. She struggled for hours upon hours, and soon darkness fell upon her. Her eyes became adjusted to the dark, the doctor hinted at something happening when night came, she heard footsteps. “Need a light?” she heard someone say from behind the door. Someone opened the door and shined a bright light at her, she could barely see and she felt a white blanket go over her. “Time of death… Yadadada… Aaand off we go.” The bed began to move. She went into the unknown once more.
